Hellenism and Christianity

This event provided a timely opportunity to revisit, update and publish the English translation of Professor John Zizioulas’s pioneering study on the earliest creative historical encounters of Hellenism and Christianity during those critical first two centuries of Church history.

The publication of this book, providentially, coincided with an important milestone in the history of the Metropolis of Boston. And for this reason, it seemed altogether proper and right to dedicate and present it to His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios on the extraordinary and most significant occasion of his fortieth anniversary as Hierarch of the Metropolis of Boston (1984-2024).

Moreover, this book serves as a symbolic expression of love and respect coming from the Clergy and the Laity of New England. It is a humble, yet tangible way, to recognize and appreciate the many important contributions of Metropolitan Methodios to the Church – as outlined so eloquently by His Eminence Archbishop
