AUTHOR BIO
Fr. Chamberas has earned degrees from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA (1961, B.A.Th.); Boston University, School of Theology (1965, S.T.M.); the University of Athens, School of Theology (1963, Licentiate; 1970, Doctorate). Fr. Chamberas has served the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in America for over fifty years as a priest, teacher and translator. In his retirement now, he continues to translate original Greek liturgical and patristic texts of the Church into the English language, as well as contemporary Greek texts on theology that inform and edify the faithful people of God.
His most recent translations include the spiritual counsels and the life of St. Paisios the Hagiorite, published by the Hesychasterion of St. John the Evangelist, in Thessaloniki, Greece, and his own Greek doctoral dissertation, The Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, published by Newfound Publishing, in Hebron, NH.
